As a newly-emerging type of film,Intellectual Property Movie(IP Movie)plays an important role in Chinese film market.It not only helps the box office to prosper,the film production chain to innovate,the film industry of China to revitalize,it is also ahead of the trend of popular culture in China and reflective of the psychological changes and demand of its cinema audience.Emerging in 2011,IP Movie has quickly developed into a national phenomenon,and is now an indispensable part of the Chinese narrative art.Closely linked with the audience in its narrative form,it has formed its own unique narrative features and styles.Based on this,this thesis discusses the most popular IP movies in China at present from the perspective of audience psychology,and summarizes the problems of the current IP Movie narrative in order to explore a new way to improve the narrative strategy and offer suggestions for the sustainable development of Chinese IP Movie.This thesis is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,mainly analyzing the research background,significance of the research and the literature review.The following is the main body of the research.The second part,i.e.the first chapter,first illustrates the theory of audience psychology,and then sums up the characteristics of IP Movie audience psychology,providing a basis for the research later.The third part,namely the second chapter,studies the narrative features of IP movies with which they cater to the audience's psychology,and analyzes the popular narrative styles guided by IP Movie.The fourth part,i.e.the third chapter,borrowing the use and gratifications approach of Communication Studies,discusses in detail how some IP movies met the audience's psychological expectations and succeeded as well as how some ignored the audience's psychological expectations and failed.The last part is the fourth chapter.Proceeding from the aesthetic psychology of the audience,it explores IP Movie's responsibility of cultural construction in the current context of popular culture,pointing out the problems of the IP Movie narrative strategy while providing innovative measures for IP Movie narrative strategy.
