Moral identity is the integration of moral system and self system which represents the importance of moral character to self.Many researches have discovered that moral identity correlates closely with adolescences' pro-social behaviors.But there is little research about the moral identity of junior high school students with pro-social behavior,and the relational mechanism of moral identity and pro-social behavior is not been revealed.Selecting 432 junior high school students and using moral identity questionnaire,basic empathy scale and pro-social tendency measure,this research explored the characteristic of moral identity and the relationship between moral identity and pro-social behavior.The results show that:(1)There is no significant gender difference and grade difference in moral identity of junior middle school students.Education levels of father makes some effect on moral identity of junior middle school students.(2)Moral identity,empathy and pro-social behavior of junior middle school students are correlated positively.Empathy is the mediator of moral identity and pro-social behavior.In conclusion,the development of pro-social behavior of junior middle school students can be promoted by enhancing moral identity and fostering empathy.
