Being Drunken is one of the most important ingredients in Chinese culture.However, people are easily to forget that it is actually an aesthetic phenomenon.Drunken means all wishes coming true. It contains significant aesthetic meanings.Being drunken, together with truth, dismiss, being awaken and being in dream, is the phenomena which is quite worthy to be studied on. During the six dynasties in China,being drunken shows different psychological status of that person in different circumstances, for example a drunken person can be veiy depressed or frustrated.Scholar officials showed the aesthetic significance of drunken by conduct an independent behavior. It emphasizes a poetic dwelling, encouraging people to break the internal limits and barriers and pursue great freedom and diversity so that they can finally get transcendence and relief.Chinese culture promotes to manifestation of collective consciousness. Instead,the personal consciousness is throttled. As six dynasties is quite volatile, the traditional cultural values collapsed. Under such circumstance, celebrities and scholars in Wei and Jin dynasties shifted their focus on the awakening of personal consciousness. They promoted that the awakening of personal consciousness is showed by living a simple and easy life.There are altogether three chapters in the paper. It first presents an analysis about the general features of the Chinese culture in the first place. Then, it moves to the definition of "being drunken" and aesthetics. Afterward,the author makes an analysis about the personality of the drunken scholars in the six dynasties and the aesthetic significance of being drunken from the perspective of the Chinese culture. At last, the author takes Tao Yuanming (who is a poet living a secluded life) as an example,investigating the integration of the phenomenon of "being drunken" with the Chinese culture.In a word,"being drunken",as a unique aesthetic phenomenon,shows the centrality of "freedom" in Chinese culture. The freedom, according to Chinese culture,emphasizes on being free on minds. Besides, it also emphasizes on respecting the individuality and respect the personal detached value. "Being drunken",tracing back to the six dynasties, represent the willingness of the scholars on pursuing freedom, in which can be understood as the transcendence in spirit. It refers to the comforts and freedom in life.
