A Study Of Nanyang Image In The Writings Of Chinese Modern Writers In The 1920s And 1940s

There were many modern Chinese writers who had been to Nanyang due to various reasons from 1920 s to 1940 s.They created works according to their own experiences,on the basis of the unique vision directly to the natural landscape of the Nanyang.They also described the social culture,local conditions and the scenes of Nanyang in detail.Modern Chinese writers created Nanyang image always with their own attitudes,personal feelings and reflections of their national emotions.For those writers,“Nanyang” was not only the displacement of geographical space,but also the displacement of their cultural background and tradition.It is worth thinking in-depth of the Nanyang's image.This paper includes introduction and the text.The introduction mainly introduces the past and present researches on Nanyang's image produced by modern Chinese writers and offers the literary basis and significance of this paper.The second chapter summarizes the Nanyang's scenery written by the modern Chinese writers in 1920s-1940 s,including tropical scenery of Nanyang and the typical social customs.The third chapter analyzes“the imagination of Nanyang” from the perspective of the “Selfness and Otherness ","Native country and Foreign land".The fourth chapter introduces the modern Chinese writers' dream of rebuilding the family and country in reference to the Nanyang.The last part is epilogue.
