The Lexicalization Of Modern Chinese "X Double Tone + Yes"

The paper studies the lexicalization of“X_Disyllable+Shi（是）”,which is a homographic pattern,and proposes some standards from phonology,semantic and syntax in order to distinguish lexical usage from other ones.Then,according to the standards proposed,the paper collects the lexical“X_Disyllable+Shi（是）”by searching the dictionaries and corpus.From the collected results,the result of lexical“X_Disyllable+Shi（是）”can be adverbs,conjunctions,verbs and discourse markers.Then,according to the lexicalization degree of“X_Disyllable+Shi（是）”,the paper classifies the lexical“X_Disyllable+Shi（是）”into different categories,which can be divided into prototype,middle and edge.And the standard of classification are usage frequency of lexical“X_Disyllable+Shi（是）”and the ratio of usage frequency of lexical“X_Disyllable+Shi（是）”to total frequency,combined with whether having conversion or not.Finally,the paper researches the motivations and mechanisms of lexicalization of“X_Disyllable+Shi（是）”,and the motivations are syntactic position,usage frequency and suspended function;the mechanisms are analogy,reanalysis,chunking,prosody and subjectification.
