This paper takes the modal adverbs of the category “dayue” as the research object,based on the history of Chinese language,to explore the lexicalization of "dayue" "dagai" "yuemo" with a diachronic view,and to explain the motivations and mechanisms of their lexicalization.The main body consists of seven parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the topic selection,the research status of the subject,the research methods used in the project,and the source of the corpus.The second part mainly describes the adverbs of speculation with synchronic view.The first section investigates the semantic characteristics of subjunctive adverbs,and summarizes the similarities and differences in semantic meaning of these adverbs.The second section investigates the syntactic position and syntactic function of these adverbs in the subjunctive mood,and focuses on the selection restriction of NP,VP and AP.The third section part is a pragmatic analysis on these words,focusing on their selection of the type of writing and the sentence type then analyzing their expression function.The third part,the fourth part and the fifth part examine the evolution of the three words "dayue" "dagai" and "yuemo".By analyzing the data of different periods and combining the meaning and expression of each word in a synchronic state,this paper finally reveals the evolution path of these three mood adverbs.Then through the collection of a large number of corpus,we examine the lexicalization process of each word..The sixth part mainly discusses the motivations and mechanisms of these words' lexicalization process.Among them,there are three main motivations for the evolution :1,the tendency towards two-syllable words;2,frequency of use;3,chunking.There are four main mechanisms of evolution: 1,metaphor;2,Reanalysis;3,Non-categorization.The seventh part is the conclusion,which gives a brief summary of the whole article,and points out some common points of these words and shortcomings of the research.
