Shanghai Folklore Research In The Supplement To The "Island Period" And "Declaration"

Shun Pao was the oldest newspaper before the founding of the People's Republic of China,which has been released from April 30,1872 to May 27,1949.It has been issued for 77 years.Free Talk and Spring and Autumn were the important supplements of Shun Pao.The island period has a total of four years and one month,from November 12,1937 to December 8,1941.During this period,the contents of Free Talk and Spring and Autumn not only reflect the real life of the Shanghai,but also reveal the folk of Shanghai from many aspects,which has the value of folklore research.This dissertation taking the two supplements of Free Talk and Spring and Autumn as case study,discusses the Shanghai folklore from six aspects.The introductory part mainly talks about the basic questions of the background,the choice of the cases,the significance of the topic and so on,and make a comprehensive analysis of the contributions of the topic.The first chapter grasps the survey of the development of the national folklore in the island period,and then referring to the development of the folklore of Shanghai.Starting with the editorial ideas of the editors in chief of Free Talk and Spring and Autumn in the island period,and explores the reasons for the appearance of folk in supplements.The second chapter writes Shanghai life folklore from Shanghai's traditional dietetic and fashionable costumes.The third chapter focuses on the connotation of festival culture,and treats the festival culture dialectically,which starts from the traditional festivals to new festivals in the island period.The fourth chapter is mainly about the religious ritual customs and folk customs,incense activities,and then analysis the significance of salvation of folk belief in a further way.The last chapter is the conclusion about the cultural value of Shanghai folk custom in the island period,which calls on the people into the anti-Japanese war in a smart way.It wakes up the sense of national identity during the war.Folklore has become an effective way to vent feelings in special times.
