Investigation And Research On The Current Situation Of Jingtang Education In Tongxin County, Ningxia

Tongxin County is a typical agglomeration of Hui nationality,which was a significant base of development of the Mosque Education historically.According to'The Chain and Biography of Islam Classic Scholars of China' records,Hai Wenxuan settled in Weizhou of Tongxin County with his son and carried forward the Mosque Education.In Modern Tongxin County,there emerged in large numbers famous Islamic masters as represented by Hu Songshan.Since the reform and opening,the Mosque Education in Tongxin County had much reformation and innovation and trained many religious talents.Therefore,researching on situation of the Mosque Education in Tongxin County has important academic value and social significance.This paper is based on relevant literatures about the Chinese Islamic Mosque Education,especially about the Mosque Education in Tongxin County.I choosed 20 mosques in Tongxin County,interviewed Imam and Mosque students,observed their daily teaching situation,and gathered data about their teaching materials,curriculum design,school system and so on.Then I try to analyse Tongxin County Mosque Education's characteristics and general situation,summarize its good experience of successful development,look forward to its future development,and evaluate its beneficial contributions to local social growth.The thesis contains four parts.First part describes Islamic history in Tongxin County,divides this historical period five stages from the Yuan Dynasties Islam introduced to Tongxin County to now,and introduces Hai Wenxuan,Hu Songshan's significant contribution to historical development of Tongxin County Mosque Education.The second part inscribes Tongxin County Mosque Education's current situation and basic characteristics,introduces Imam's age,native place,study original intention,study process,teaching situation and learning scriptures.The third part chooses Ayinke Mosque,Dongqing Mosque,the West Mosque these three typical cases to discuss their excellent experience about running school successfully.The fourth part is to think deeply about the development of Tongxin County Mosque Education,prospect the future development of the Mosque Education in Tongxin County,explore its profound influence to local ethnic groups and compare differences and advantage between the Mosque Education and the Arabic Language College.Undoubtedly numerous innovation and growth has brought exuberant vitality and developing energy to the Tongxin County Mosque Education,however,secularization shock affects passively its development and thus the future of the Mosque Education in Tongxin County will be faced with challenges.
