This is a report on English-Chinese translation.The original text is from Chapter 1 and 3 of Understanding Child Language Acquisition written by Caroline Rowland.Chapter 1 “ Introduction to Child Language Acquisition” mainly tells about the content of child language acquisition,and it discusses the ways of acquiring languages,from what is the language to the different ways between animals and children in learning languages.Chapter 3 explores the meaning of the words,and introduces the constraint theory.The source text puts an emphasis on information since it is from an academic book with precise and formal language,strong logicality and coherent discourse.The key of the translation process is faithfulness and accurate inform anon transmission.The report mainly presents the translation strategies from the aspects of experimental methods,words and passive voices.I hope the translation strategies mentioned in the report can help those interested in studying child language acquisition.In addition,I hope the target text will be helpful for people who are interested in acquiring the knowledge of child language acquisition.
