Following the timeline of history,this article combs the developmentof Horse painting in China.Through the study of this kind of painting'shistory,we can discover that Horse painting works in each era have theimprint and characteristics of their own time.They reflect the spirit andlife of the time and the artist's aesthetic sense as well.Whether it is thecompetition and integration of farming culture and grassland culture,or theexchanges between Chinese and Western culture,these cultural phenomenon areall reflected in the works of Horse paintings of their age.The current Inner-Mongolia Grassland painting school is the inheritanceand development of traditional grassland culture.In terms of nationalityand regional,it is the cultural and spiritual continuation of NorthernGrassland painting school.Horse as a theme is vital for Grassland paintingschool,of which Tuo Musi is the most representative one.This article takethe Man and Horse paintings of Tuo Musi and his students and succeedinggenerations as study subjects,thus revealing the inner spirit and realemotions of the horses depicted by contemporary Inner-Mongolia Grasslandpainters,which indicate the characteristic and vitality of the time and theuniversal values of human beings.The Inner-Mongolia Grassland paintingschool is no longer confined to the north of Yinshan Mountians;it has alreadypassed Yinshan Mountains and its influence has been gradually emerging.
