"The Essays Of The Contest": The Historical Narrative And Folk Reconstruction Of Current Affairs Novels

Zheng Bo Zou Jie Chuan printed in the thirty-first year of Wan Li(in 1603 A.D.).It was a current-event novel that described the war between the twenty-seventh year(in 1599 A.D.)and the twenty-eighth year of Wan Li(in 1600 A.D.)in Bo Zhou.This novel had important historical value and literary value.But historically inaccurate statements in this novel caused the dissatisfaction of Zi Zhang Guo,who was a general in the war.In the forty-fourth year of Wan Li(in 1616 A.D.),Zi Zhang Guo wrote Qian Zhong Ping Bo Shi Mo(the following referred to as Ping Bo Shi Mo)that described the beginning and the end of the war,in order to correct the mistakes in the novel.The thesis is based on carefully studying Zheng Bo Zou Jie Chuan and Ping Bo Shi Mo,comparing with history books written in biographical style,local chronicles,and unofficial history notes and so on.The author will apply the theories of text parsing and philology,compare the war of Bo Zhou between the novel and historical materials and give objective evaluation of the main members of the war.In the end,the author will try analyzing the interaction between folk historical novels and historical materials,and seek the differences of view of history between novelists and historians.The thesis is divided into five parts to discuss.The first part is the introduction.It includes the meaning of the topic,research situation,the research methods and the innovative point.The second part mainly discusses written ways of Zheng Bo Zou Jie Chuan and current comments.Zheng Bo Zou Jie Chuan printed in three years after the end of the war.This is very quickly.The novel drew the materials from Ping Bo Shi Lue,Ping Xi Kai Ge,Ping Bo Ji and so on.It also adopted some rumor to increase the interest of the novel.Zi Zhang Guo,the general of the war,was dissatisfied with the novel.Ping Bo Shi Mo questioned the behavior of showing partiality for Ying Long Yang in the novel.This chapter will discuss the part.The third part will apply the method of mutual verification between literature and history to compare the novel and the history book after introducing the war in Bo Zhou.This part mainly compares the main battles and the main generals during the war.The process of attacking the passes in the novel is the same with the historical facts.But the novel exaggerated the contribution of the general Lin Chen,overlooked Hua Long Li,Zi Zhang Guo,Ting Liu,Jiang Chen An.The author discriminates these generals' contributions according to Ping Bo Shi Mo and other historical materials and admits their contributions during the war.The forth part discusses the civil reconstruction to the history in the novel.Art comes from life;the novel creation similarly can't be separated from the realistic society.In order to increase the readability of the story,the novelist adopted the legendary factors to historical reality.In order to attract the readers' interest,the text had erotic descriptions.In the part,the author analyzes the novelist's mentality and the text's social value.The fifth part is the epilogue.The part discusses the relations between novels and history,seeks the writing rules of novels that describes current events,and the writing mentality of the novelists.
