As a student of the wood carving studio,through the practice of wood materialsand the study of sculpture theory,I has a certain grasp and understanding to thelanguage of this sculpture of wood material.Wooden material itself contains a verylively language,wood is a real fresh life of the material,the growth of trees throughthe roots of the roots in the soil to absorb nutrients,transported to the leaves,leaves todo photosynthesis and then back to the nutrients branches,this is a process of life andit gives the wood unique language charm.After the trees died,the traces of time andnature have formed a special form of language,and many artists used this special trailto do the work.The form of wood carving in the expression of wood art plays animportant position,it is a carrier to the expression and the art itself.Wood carving asan art form,in the process of the development of human civilization continue tohighlight their artistic value,to meet people's different levels of artistic needs.In thecontemporary art environment,with the artist's artistic demands increase,woodcarving art form language More and more rich,through the study of the artist's artisticlanguage formation environment,to analyze the artist's wood carvings,in differentcountries under different artistic context of the artist's vertical and horizontal contrast,the wood carving language form of personality beauty to make an analysis.I chose two artists,who take the wood as a carrier to express their artistic ideas,the same material,but because of the artistic taste and expression is different,so theforms is also different.Bruno Walpot quiet and silence,Veikko Hirvimaki poetic andmystery,their unique but there are different beauty.This topic hopes to explore theformation process of the art form of the two artists,and the analysis of the works inorder to increase the understanding of the different forms of wood carving art.
