The communist party of China and the government always attach great importance to the ideological and political education work of college students, and enhancing and improving the work is thought as a fundamental project. Every year there are a lot of students apply for to join the party organization, the survey also shows that 87% of college students submit the application form to join the party, emerged the phenomenon of the popularity to join the Party. Behind this phenomenon, there has been some students' motivation of joining the CCP is not correct, the ideal faith of the minority party members is not determined, organizational discipline concept is not strong. Author by reading current literature, the motive of college students in different periods is studied, the motive of college students at present with the 20th century 80's and 90's makes a comparative analysis of the motive of college students, come to the college students'enthusiasm for joining higher, their motives more complex, utilitarian tendency more strongly. Therefore, the cultivation of college students' motives in put forward higher requirements. Corresponding to this, motive training work in colleges and universities in the new period according to social development to make appropriate changes, showing inadequate State without effect, so on the cultivation of college students' motives need to be further strengthened.This paper starts with the motive of college students in the new era, has some of the best results for reference and questionnaire, based on an in-depth investigation of inheritance. In this paper, the questionnaire mainly adopts two methods of field surveys and online questionnaire, on-the-spot investigation to have representative eight universities in Sichuan province by the undergraduate and graduate students as investigation object, online questionnaire is mainly by mobile scanning We-Chat QR codes in a way that questionnaire survey, the scope of the investigation mainly choose the city such as Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan and Guangzhou college students. Through in-depth interviews and questionnaire way, go deep into the students' classroom, dormitory, party school classroom, to understand their state of mind, roughly know the motive in the college students to join the party in the new period, the mainstream is the belief in Marxism, the leadership of the party, also presents the characteristics of diversification trend, has the tendency to utilitarian and conformity is serious; From social factors, school factors, family factors and factors four aspects analyzes the college students themselves and the formation of the party motives of the different types of reason, and then based on this put forward to guide students to correct party motives, sound party motivation mechanism, puts forward the method for the primary culture of motivation to the party, in order to party motivation training college work in the new period.
