After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Communist Party of China (CPC), to survive the national crisis and mobilize the whole nation to resist against Japanese aggression, carried out extensive and in-depth national education in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region. This effort aroused the consciousness of general public, strengthened the cohesion of the whole nation, not only promoted the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region the restoration and reconstruction of social politics, economic and cultural. Besides, it implement the leadership of the communist party of China the victory of the anti-Japanese national liberation war. As for the research and study in this field, however, the academic circles cannot give more information at present.The author, according to the related documents and materials, is based on the historical practice of national education carried out by CPC in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region during this period and makes a systematic analysis on the social background, development processes and historic roles of national education.This thesis is constituted by three parts including introduction, main body and conclusion, five chapters in total.The first part is introduction. It mainly gives a brief introduction to the reasons for the choice, research significance and research assumptions, as well as makes an analysis of the concept of national education.The second part consists of chapter 2,3,4 and 5.Chapter 2:It focus on the social and historic background of national education carried out by CPC in Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region during the War Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. In this border region, the formidable natural environment, serious economic crisis and deep-rooted feudal exploitation and oppression made social culture more backward and people's thoughts more conservative. Under the historic background of increasingly serious national crisis, CPC embarked on the transformation from class education to national education. That the party carried out national education is not only in that its practice basis in former time, but because the practical needs of changing the state of cultural and educational desertification, following its law of development and strengthening the power of resistance against Japanese aggression.Chapter 3:It gives the prominence to the development course and implementation form of national education in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region, as well as to the people's respond of the region. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the national education carried out by CPC in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border regionexperienced initial stage of exploration ranging from 1937 to 1941and mature stage of development from 1941 to 1945. It is mainly targeted to the cadres, young students and grassroots with diversified forms and in-depth analysis.Meanwhile, the people in this region gave three different responses to national education, that is support, objection and uncertainty respectively.Chapter 4:It mainly discusses the historical role of national education in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region. Besides, national education in this border region is analyzed in detail to discuss its great role and profound effect on the popularization of culture, social structure, production development, establishment of model anti-Japanese democratic government and support for CPC.Chapter 5:It summarizes historical experience of national education in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region. Through analyzing the practice of national education carried out by CPC in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region, the author draws the following conclusions:Adhering to the direction of the new democratic educationis the political guarantee for national education carried out by CPC; Maintaining close ties with the masses, production, daily life and reality is the motive force of national education carried out by CPC; Making full use of organizational advantage of CPC is the requirement for national education carried out by CPC Upholding the people-oriented educational ideais the intrinsic requirement for national education carried out by CPC.The third part is conclusion. It mainly summarizes the research of this thesis, points out its deficiencies and expects the related issues to be further studied.
