The landless peasant phenomenon has aroused public concern with the development of urbanization in China. Landless peasants refer to the peasants whose land is legally expropriated by the State in the public interest. However, due to the insufficient compensation, non-standard expropriation procedures and the developers’ illegal operations, the interests of the landless peasants are damaged, causing the landless peasants’rights protection. Currently, the landless peasants’rights protection focuses on the issue of compensation for land expropriation, and concerns employment, medical care, pension and other social security rights as well.The rapid development of the Internet and the maturing of virtual society provide a new communicative channel and better media environment for the landless peasants’ rights protection. The intertwined communicative platforms such as micro-blogging, letter, news sites and plenty of other public platformsensure the rapid spread of information, and arouse the concern of many users, and hence form a network of public opinion. In the communicative process of rights protection event, the network of public opinion on the one hand plays an positive role in promoting and facilitating; on the other hand, due to the multivariate and complex nature of the network media itself, it also triggers and further stimulates the struggle of the landless peasants’ resistant rights protection, and exacerbates the social instability. Therefore, research on the role the network of public opinion played on the landless peasants’resistant rights protection is of great social and practical significance.The main subjects of this thesis are the network of public opinion and the landless peasants’ resistant rights protection. There are seven chapters in this thesis, divided into three parts. The first chapter is the introduction, and the second and third chapters constitute the first part of the thesis, mainly dealing with the landless peasants’resistant rights protection; the second part of the paper consists of the fourth and fifth chapters, and the role the network public opinion played on the landless peasants’ resistant rights protection were analyzed in this chapter; the sixth and the seventh chapters are the third part of the thesis, figuring out the negative effect produced in the landless peasants rights protection with the aid of group pressure and putting forward a solution to this negative effect.Through the research on the role the network public opinion played on the landless peasants’resistant rights protection, this thesis analyzed the way the landless peasants’ rights protection entering the focus of public attention, and its characteristics exhibited in the dissemination process of the network of public opinion, and then put forward that the effect of the network public opinion on the landless peasants’resistant rights protection is mainly induction at the beginning, spreading and promoting during the procedure and reflection afterwards. Finally, the thesis analyzed the negative social impact of the excessive concern the network public opinion brings about on the landless peasants’resistant rights protection in the construction of sustainable development of the society, and then discussed the possible solutions to this problem.
