Taiwan began its political transformation from mid 1980s.This political transfor-mation had close connection with Taiwan’s political culture transition.One of crucial power was Democratic Progressive Party.The formation and establishment of the DPP is in the most critical period of the Taiwan’s political transition.From 1987 to 2000,Taiwan society showed a characteristic of political liberalization and democratization,In 2000,the DPP became the ruling party in Taiwan for the first time.Due to its special political party program and the political proposition,cross-strait relations have experienced quite a difficult period.As a young political party,the DPP has accumulated such political influence in the two decades of its establishment.It has received the support of the Taiwan people in the election.Its influence towards political culture deserve in depth exploration.Most researchers from mainland China focus on its "Taiwan independence" concept,but put no enough attention on party system itself.This article would analyzes DDP in the frame of three aspects of culture:Political culture consists of system culture,process culture and policy culture,it could be influenced by various factors.According to Taiwan University’s Democracy Research Program of East Asia,we could have some details about democratic system.In system culture part,DDP’s ideology is not only about ’Taiwan independence",but also have its ideas frequently changed;The vital reason of these changes is the need of the election,the "Taiwan independence" was too radical to have an effect on Taiwan ’s development.In system culture part,citizens show their needs in taking part in public events,DPP adjust its policy orientation gradually to meet the expectation of the public.In policy culture part,DPP’s "Taiwan independence" is now limited that they should be more prudent to avoid negative efficiency of local economic development and Taiwan’s external relation with mainland China.
