Chiang Kai-shek's Military Thought And Practice Research

The Second Northern Expedition pledged from Xuzhou in April,1928,is a war started independently by Chiang Kai-shek with the allied new warlord,called Feng Yuxiang,Yan Xishan and Li Zongren after Chiang Kai-shek has grasped the real power,and the war was used for fighting the warlord,Zhang Zuolin.This war proceeded northward and continuously overcame the enemy and won,while when marched forward to Jinan,Japan sent an army for obstruction,and thus the Jinan Massacre happened;but Chiang Kai-shek compromised and conceded,he made a detour for the northern expedition,and continued to go north;finally Zhang Xueliang changed the flag and allegiance,and peacefully reunified the Northeast,and accomplished the goal of the northern expedition revolution.This northern expedition is usually ignored by people due to its short proceeding time.This article sets the second northern expedition as the object of study,and through combing the process of northern expedition war and analyzing the decisions made by Chiang Kai-shek during the war,we could realize the long-suffering heart change of Chiang Kai-shek after Jinan Massacre,and thus to look on the nature of this northern expedition war led independently by Chiang Kai-shek after the split of Kuomintang and the Communist Party in a more objective and fair way,it also enables us to deeply know the political strategy and military command strategy of Chiang Kai-shek,and to objectively and fairly evaluate Chiang Kai-shek.The article is divided into five chapters: the first chapter is introduction,introducing the research topic and significance of the article,also some related information on the current situation,content and structure.The second chapter mainly expounds the process of the second Northern Expedition under the leadership of Chiang kai-shek.Including the background of the Second Northern Expedition.Chapter Two has analyzed the preparation work did by Chiang Kai-shek before the Second Northern Expedition,which includes the background and situation before the start of the Second Northern Expedition: the wild war condition of each warlord and the contradictions of Cunningham government,and a series of political,diplomacy and military preparation strategies adopted by Chiang Kai-shek for guaranteeing the successful proceeding of the Second Northern Expedition.Chapter Three has analyzed in detail the earlier-stage process of the Second Northern Expedition and the military and political strategies made by Chiang Kai-shek during the early phase of war.Chapter four is analyzed the strategies of the later of the Second Northern Expedition.Chapter Five is the evaluation on Chiang Kai-shek and the Second Northern Expedition war,which includes the evaluation on the resolution and attitude of Chiang Kai-shek when he led the Second Northern Expedition war,and the nature of the Second Northern Expedition.This article tries to explore the initial military and political strategies of Chiang Kai-shek through combing the process of the Second Northern Expedition and analyzing the decisions made by Chiang Kai-shek during the Second Northern Expedition process,and this would have certain reference function for us to correctly understand this phase of history,and objectively evaluate Chiang Kai-shek in the Second Northern Expedition war.
