Management Problems And Countermeasures For Highway Congestion During Free Holidays

The implementation of the highway toll-free policy on some holidays for small-size vehicles,while saving a lot of travel costs for the public,has caused traffic surge on highway and resulted in road congestion,which has brought many new problems during highway management.The problems are:with the implementation of the new policy,the lack of attention to accident prevention has led to frequent accidents,no effective controls for vehicle flow of the highway;and no effective management for the highway toll station areas.The reasons are multifaceted,including that:the current highway law systems is inadequate,some provisions are not warning enough;the current highway management system does not keep up with the progress of the development of highway;the functional departments do not introduce modern management ideas;lack of the management resources;the handling mechanism of traffic accidents is not flexible enough,and the media is not in good use.In view of the problems above,should produce some effective and more possible laws and rules,should set a new command department during the highway toll-free policy;and establish an effective three-level prevention mechanism of traffic accidents,led the social resources and medias to the highway management;make the resources integrated,led the highway company more active involvement to the highway management;which might solve the highway congestion caused by highway toll free policy on holidays.
