The Transformation Of Jordan's Position On The Palestinian Issue From The Perspective Of Power Constructivism (1948-1988)

In the Middle East,no matter how many contradictions involving in the Arab world,problems between Arabia and Israel always remain one of the fundamental contradictions in the Middle East,with the Israeli and Palestinian issue at its very core.Concerning legitimacy,territory,refugee problems,etc,the intricately intertwined Israeli and Palestinian issue has been attracting a great number of scholars' attention.As one party of the Arab-Israeli conflict,Israel has always been the main content of researches on the Israel and Palestinian issue.As for the Palestine,to some extent,the Palestinian issue are closely interconnected with the the whole Arab world,especially the countries such as Jordan,Egypt and Syria,who have vital interest in the Palestinian issue and are the major participants for the final problem solving.There,the discussion of the positions of Arabian countries and the Israel on the Palestinian issue is of great significance to the better understanding and final solving of it.This paper,with the Kindom of Jordan Hachem and Israel,two of the Arabian countries which are very typical in the Palestinian issue as its objects of study,analyzes the Palestinian and Israeli issue from a new theoretical perspective,namely,the power constructivism.The aim of this paper is to analyze Israel's influence on Jordan in terms of the Palestinian issue under the framework of power constructivism.And this paper finally concludes that the construction impact Israel's coercive power exerted on the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan,which leads to Jordan's gradual consent to Israeli's requirement and no more hard lines.Therefore,this paper is divided into five parts.The introduction in chapter 1 introduces the meaning and background of the study as well as the current research status in the field of theoretical researches of international relations on the Palestinian issue through literature review;in chapter 2 it specifically introduces the main contents of power constructivism——the theoretical framework of this paper;in chapter 3 analyzes in detail the relationship among Israel,Jordan and the Palestinian issue under the framework of power constructivism;in chapter 4 this paper will demonstrate the feasibility of this theoretical perspective through concrete facts;in the last chapter it draws a conclusion.
