This study originated from two reasons. At first, Researcher had been visited several Preschool which are all use Project Approach in Taiwan during the exchange,and From then reaearcher are began interest in Project Approach, secondly,the early childhood curriculum reform in China. Through inspecting and analyzing the literature, directions of the research is confirmed. The purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility of Project Approach in the kindergardern of Beijing city, to improve teaching methods in kindergarden,increase learning efficency,and encourage the teachers’growth, And meet the requirement of Guidelines for Preschool Edueation(Trial).This study is divided into two parts, first part is action study of Project Approach. Project--" variety of food "carried out about two months in a public preschool in Beijing. This study address the following research questions:in the specific context of the preschool, how to choose the project theme, determine the program content; how to support children’s learning in the process of the project approach; what kind of problems do teachers will encounter and how; to solve these problems according to local conditions etc. The results shows:First, teachers’ network are different from children’network;Second, children are not good at asking questions; Third, Field-visiting is impossible in preschool; Fourth, parents’help can solve the problem of visiting; Fifth, we can grasp random opportunities for education; Sixth, teachers can fully use secondary sources; Seventh, the design of expert interviews is very important; Eighth, teachers should concern for cultural differences of children; Ninth, teachers should assist children when they are fell difficult in activities; Tenth, pay attention to the extense activities of Project.The second part is a survey of Project Approach in the Preschool of Beijing. Action research encountered many difficulties, then researcher think about wheather these difficulties are universal. Therefore, researcher conducted a survey of preschool teachers in Beijing. This study investigated112preschool teachers, and interviewed three administrators at the same. The results show:The first, most preschool teachers do not konw Project Approach; Second, teachers and administrators all approve of Project Approach; Third, preschools in Beijing have the equipment for Project Approach; Fourth, Project Approach still faces many practical difficulties at present. |
