Our country is in a critical period of opening up and China is vigorously implementing the strategy of going out. The cultivation of open education at this present stage is of great significance for high school students. However, the open education hasn't received enough attention due to the deviation of public opinion and the education philosophy, especially the effect of exam-orientation education. Schools, teachers and students lay too much emphasis on college entrance examination and scores, which are not only unfavorable to the cultivation of opening consciousness but also ran counter to the quality-oriented education. China is advancing the socialist construction of modernization, which needs open-orientated and innovative persons. Therefore, it's very urgent and important for students to cultivate the opening consciousness.Currently, there haven't been too many researches about “the cultivation of opening consciousness” and researches about the cultivation of opening consciousness in history classes are even less. The research about the cultivation of opening consciousness is targeted at emotion attitudes and values of education. However, exam-oriented education and scientism are dominant in China's education, like the Educational Idea of Humanism in this paper hasn't been given sufficient attention. The lack of the pursuit-of-truth spirit, the pragmatic spirit and the pursuit of kindness makes the people neglect the value of human and spirit. Education is the activity to cultivate people, not the means to satisfy utilitarian orientation of value.The history class is very helpful for students to establish the opening consciousness. First,history is not an isolated discipline and its contents include the development of human sciences and natural sciences. The literature and history are closely connected with each other,just like the politics and history. Second, there are many contents in history courses which could be questioned and talked about by students without only relying on teachers and history books.Third, through different countries' history learned in history classes, students could be aware of the significance of cultivation of opening consciousness.This paper is divided into six parts: the first part is the introduction, which states the significance and background. The second part describes the main content of the cultivation of opening consciousness. The third part states the urgency and importance of the cultivation of opening consciousness. In the fourth part, combined with the history class, the paper describes the superiority of cultivation of opening consciousness in history education. The fifth part describes resources and methods of cultivating the opening consciousness. The sixth part is the specific practice, which cultivates the opening consciousness through specific history classes.
