Pedagogical Content Knowledge(PCK) is a kind of unique knowledge of teachers to carry out teaching activities.Professor Shulman, the president of the American Education Research Association,is the first scholars who putted forward the concept of PCK(Pedagogical Content Knowledge) in 1986.Since then,many scholars and experts at home and abroad started a new upsurge in researching on this field. Resent years, combining PCK with praticular subject becomed a new research way. Compared with the abroad researches on PCK, the domestic researches are very lack of positive study.This research want to probe into the PCK level of senior middle school biological teachers through questionnaire survey, interview and classroom observation.This paper altogether includes the following eight parts:The first part of introduction include two parts: the context of research and the significance of research.The significance of research including theory of research and practice significance of research.The second part is the literature review, introduces present situation of researching on theory and concrete evidence of PCK.The introduction with theory of PCK includes the intention of PCK,the key elements of PCK and the model of organization of PCK.The research about concrete evidence of PCK introduces the present situation of researching on senior middle school biological teachers who are in different professional development stages.The third part is the main body of this research,which including the design of research,analyse of statistical result and the discuss on result.This research investigates pedagogical content knowledge of senior middle school biological teachers through questionnaire survey, interview and classroom observation, and analyzed statistical results.Discover the different pedagogical content knowledge characteristics of senior middle school biologyical teachers that have different teaching age,gender,occupation and different school classfication and grades. The questionnaire uses Likert five-point scale,which is divided into four dimensions :teaching strategy, students understanding, the teaching goal and situations,and biology curriculum.This study use three methods of data analysis: a research about the present situation of the level of the teachers' PCK using descriptive statistical analysis,a research on different teaching age of teachers' PCK difference except using the average difference test and analysis of variance, also combined with teachers' short answers and the behaviour in classroom for qualitative analysis. And the research on different characteristics of teachers' PCK difference using the average difference test, analysis of variance, etc..The main data analysis tool is PASW Statistics 19.0.The results show that,teachers' PCK and teaching age,occupation and different school classfication have some relevance, especially teaching age. For different teaching age of teachers, their PCK show significant differences.The fouth part is the recommendations. The research summarized the situation of senior middle school biological teachers' PCK and gave some suggestions about current problems:firstly,reform the graduation fieldwork of educational spaciality university student;secondly,strengthen the communication and exchange between teachers;thirdly,develop a good habit of self-reflection;lastly, increase opportunities for biological teachers from different school to learn from each other.The fifth part is the conclusions of the study.This part sam up the work that the research has done.
