Promote independence, cooperation, pluralism learning inquiry learning in the new era emerged and gained ground. Meaningful discovery method to guide students in the learning process, take the initiative to learn the knowledge to contact, many other mufti-angle analysis abstract, promote students to actively thinking, outside to the inside so that they understand the materials, grasp the essential characteristics of geography of things, in independent study found that knowledge and application of knowledge.In this paper, the theory,practice and teaching model to study three aspects of Meaningful Discovery Learning Theory in Geography Teaching:First, from the theory, Bruner found through research to the study of teaching Ausubel meaningful learning theory, teaching theory to explore two individual characteristics, meaning and value, as well as teaching the meaning upon binding generated; there are discussed meaning found teaching conditions and motivational factors and the like.Secondly, the paper summarizes the use of Elucidating from Ausubel meaningful discovery teaching theory from the basic teaching model, including the following procedural steps:The first step is to set the geographical problem situation;The second step is to collect the relevant data;The third step is the classification of geographic data, analysis and discovery;The fourth step is concluded by a student initiative, or the formation of hypotheses;The fifth step is the outcome of teachers to students to reflect, evaluate, supplement, made a brief and accurate summary;The sixth step is to find more information and links, draw more assumptions and conclusions. The sixth step is a critical step, "meaningful learning" is the relationship between knowledge by finding links between Construction Learning cognitive structure, which links through logical connections and diverging completed.Finally, from the practice, through the effective implementation of meaningful step method found in instructional design, combined with meaningful classification method found in instructional design, and links will categorize according to the logic, the case will be classifiedusing materialized, followed by design of meaningful discovery method in geography teaching two lesson plans elaboration.This paper mainly through the "urban concept", "ocean currents on the geographical environment of the" two teaching cases, significant discovery confirms the feasibility and effectiveness of teaching methods in the teaching of geography. After the study found that high school geography teaching in many sections of knowledge can use meaningful discovery method of teaching.The basic conclusions of this paper are the results: First, the use in the teaching of geography meaningful discovery teaching method, namely, the development of students 'ability to explore, yearned for learning, but also train the students' thinking ability. These objectives are in line with the ultimate aim of the new curriculum reform, the development of autonomy,cooperation, explore new ways of learning. Second, find meaningful teaching program mode this paper has good provability, cultivate students' ability to solve the problem in a finite time in the classroom and teach a lot of conflict between knowledge. Third, not all knowledge is applicable to the teaching method designed to find meaningful. In geography teaching practice, according to a flexible schedule based on the content of materials and characteristics of students, so that meaningful application discovery method in Geography Teaching for best results.
