| Nowadays, with the rapid development of information technology, many countries are committed to incorporate the latest methods into chemistry teaching. Therefore, there are more and more teaching methods in chemistry. In the United States,a new teaching model called “flipped classroom”,also known as "reverse class" or"reversed the classroom” has been proposed. The concept of the teaching model is to rearrange the class time. Before, the teacher teaching stage is usually finished in the class. With the new studying model, the class time now is used to finish tasks and students have to watch online lecture before they come to the class. In this way, students can internalize the knowledge better. This paper analyzes the basic concept of flipped classroom and its theoretical basis. The author read a range of reliable research results and learned the concept of flipped classroom.By using various research methods, including action profile and questionnaire analysis, the author conducted a class in Dalian Lvshun High School. The author used the context of “ion reaction and reaction conditions” in year 10 in the chemistry textbook. After evaluating the effectiveness of the model before the class,in the class, after the class and the communication with the students, the author noticed that flipped classroom model can improve students’ interest in learning chemistry, increase their motivation of independent learning and enhance their ability of problem-solving.This model can not only foster students’ independent studying but also group studying, which can eventually lead to a more comprehensive development of students.According to the problems observed in the practice, the author thinks that with the flipped classroom model, students need to focus on the independent studying, cooperation, obtaining resources etc.As for teaching, there should be a monitoring platform and well-structured lecture video. Also, teachers need to adopt the class activities with the focus on the group study and also to assess students using a variety of ways. |
