Educational assessment is of important significance for the physical and mental development of infant as well as the ability of the preschool teacher.Educational assessment,a non-quantitative evaluation method,focus on the cognition character and community development in the development of infant,becoming an important assessment method after the enactment of?Kindergarten education guidance program(for Trial Implementation)?.The advanced concepts and the assessment methods in Leaming Story can compensate the shortage of the current development assessment.This paper focused on the application of the Learning Story in the infant assessment,providing support for the infant development assessment.The method of case collection and interview were applied in this study.The objects of case collection were the infants and teachers in a kindergarten in Dalian.Via collecting and study the assessment cases of the infant development which were made by the preschool teacher,the shortage of the development assessment were acquired.The interview includes teacher interview and infant interview.The teacher interview mainly focus on study the cognition level and application of the development assessment and learning story.The infant interview focus on investigation the influence of the appraisal to the infant made by the parents and teachers.Furthermore,this paper provides reasonable suggestions for the current development assessment method.Several characteristics of New Zealand learning story were summarized in this paper,including attention to children's spot,specific assessment content and emphasizing learning style finding et al,which can offset the shortage existing in the current development assessment.Through observing and consulting literatures,it can be found that there is serious disconnection between application and theory in the infant development assessment.Additionally,the preschool teacher did not know which contents should be chosen for the infant assessment.It can be found that there exists deficiency for the application of New Zealand learning story in five areas,including the study of learning story should be further studied,the assessment system is imperfect,big class teaching,evaluation object single,lack of free activity et al.several suggestions were put forward to solve these problems including strengthen the training to teacher,increasing free activity games et al.
