| Under the circumstance of China’s transformation from traditional society to modern society, building a healthy and orderly civil society is of necessity, and this has gradually become a common sense. The public life field, a living space for the public affairs to realize the public welfare, is an indispensable part of civil society. The public life practice is made up of people’s public participation and communication in public affairs. School education burdens the mission of cultivating rational public person for the civil society, besides the formal civil educational curriculum, university student society’s activity is a typical way for the young to take part in the public life. The research aims to demonstrate a typical university student society’s daily public life and the members’thinking and feeling, to reveal the education value in cultivating the public consciousness and civic character of the members of this voluntary and self-governing public group and its activities and to reveal the potential factor that weaken and dissimilate the publicity of team life.This research includes three parts. The first part is mainly about the background introduction and the presentation of the facts, to lay the foundation of the analysis in the later chapter. The first chapter describes the overall shape of the public life in the school of team A, traces the history and background of establishment and development, and introduces the researcher’s experience in this group. Chapter 2 renders the team member’s public life in practice by observing their public participation and communication, for example, the goal and the form of their public participation, the public communication between the team and the social public and the educational government. Chapter 3 is the second part, which mainly analyses the positive factors of team A in public life practice, such as the public value and citizen educational significance inherent in group activities, the relatively good environment and community autonomy democratic conditions within the community. Chapter 4 is the last part of this paper, analyzing the problems and exploring solutions in the practice of public life. Team members’do things’rather than’take part in’,’individual opinions’are overwhelmed in’team consistency’so that participants’subjective value cannot be realised. The bad impact of the’family culture’on the public spirit, rational dilemma of the ’propagandize of positive energy’and team members’misunderstanding of the political participation and so on. These are the problems that the team face with. This paper trys to find out the solution in theory and lacks specific measures, and this may be the shortcoming of the paper.This research has found that activities carried out by the university student society, especially this type of service student society that serve the society and help the weak were civil actions. The agents were playing the role of public persons during the process of participating, but the players are lack of the consciousness of being a public person, such as the absence of subjectivity and public rationality in participation and the political alienation. These issues have their social environmental or institutional causes, but the public participation and communication that are of great importance still need the guidance of school education. How to cultivate public persons with rational, self-reflection and critical spirit is a realistic issue for the present education. |
