The Advanced Placement courses (AP courses) is a kind of courses with academic standards and the level of attainment as the same as university, which is designed to meet the high school students who have spare capacity to explore knowledge. Recently, some well-known universities, high schools and education research institutes have been actively studying the AP courses. Based on combing the existing resources and making a case analysis for the pilot project of CAP, researcher tries to make some studies including the present situation of AP courses,issues from the current implementation and strategies to solve problems. Researcher hopes that this study can provide implications to the successful practice and offerings of AP courses in our country.The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first part is an introduction, mainly raising questions, explains the meaning of research, and reviewed literature related to the AP courses in domestic and foreign, based on which, a few basic concepts defined, the main methods used in this study is introduced.The first chapter is about "the current situation of Advanced Placement courses offerings opened in high school at home ".Firstly, the chapter introduces some previous experiments and the ideological basis of offering the AP courses in our country, which is based on the quality-oriented educational thoughts and the theory of educational cohesion. Secondly, researcher combs and summarizes the way of offering AP courses, the types of AP courses, the way of examination and assessment. Finally, the chapter analysis that the three-level curriculum management system, elective system, credit system and some educational policy provide system preparation and policy support for offering the AP courses in our countryThe second chapter summarizes and combs the background and design concept by making a case analysis for pilot project of CAP.Then the operation system of the pilot project is studied from the five aspects of the curriculum, teaching, examination and assessment, teacher professional development and student. Finally, the chapter analyses that the Chinese education society and the pilot project schools give a lot of support for the pilot project of CAP.The third chapter is about "the issues from the current implementation of AP courses at home". By analyzing the current issues from the perspective of students, high schools and universities, the researcher found we are facing the three issues.Firstly, the opportunity of taking an AP course for students is not fair and many colleges offer AP courses for the purpose of grabbing good students. Secondly, there are some issues in school conditions and teaching level, such as insufficient preparation, the courses are more in name than in reality, teaching level has been questioned. Thirdly, the cooperation platform and credit identification have issues which the standard of curriculum planning and evaluation system, the use of rules and credit mechanism is not unified.The fourth chapter is about "the strategies to promote the development of AP courses". With reference to the experience of American AP course, the chapter suggests that we can build up the unified curriculum system by promoting equitable access mechanism, perfecting the construction of curriculum system and establishing the unified examination and credit mechanism. Moreover we can optimize the teachers team, strength teacher training and establish the teaching pursuit of "excellence and equity" to improve the quality of teaching. At last, we can perfect the support system from the policy, funding and researches.
