Chinese textbooks are not only the primary means of student learning, but also an important carrier of spreading knowledge. The age of Children image in the elementary Chinese textbooks is similar to the elementary school students, so it can attract the attention of students more easily. They play a very important role in primary school students and can affect pupils' behavior, attitudes and personality cultivation. Published in 1932, Kai Ming Mandarin textbook reprinted in 2005. It is regarded as an ideal primary school Chinese textbook. The selling of Kai Ming Mandarin textbook reflects people are not satisfied with today's primary school Chinese textbooks. The author lives in the area where uses Jiang Su primary school Chinese textbook, which is the representative textbook of contemporary primary school Chinese textbooks. From the perspective of children image, the author will compare Kai Ming Mandarin textbook with Jiang Su primary school Chinese textbook by using literature method, comparison method. By comparing the difference of children image in the two kinds of textbooks, the author aims to find the reasons why they are different. Besides, by analyzing the the advantages of Kai Ming Mandarin textbook, we can provide some suggestions for the improvement of Jiang Su primary school Chinese textbook. This selected topic has certain theoretical significance and great practical significance.The thesis is divided into five parts. The introduction part elaborates the reason why select this topic, research situation, research significance and research methods. The first chapter compare Kai Ming Mandarin textbook with Jiang Su primary school Chinese textbook in the basic situation of children image. These basic situation involve three aspects. The first involves the selected article number, length and the behaviour of children image. The second involves the external characteristics of children. The third involves the good quality of children image. On the basis of the overall comparison of children image in the first chapter, the second chapter compare the characteristics of children image in Kai Ming Mandarin textbook and Jiang Su primary school Chinese textbook standing at a higher angle, and to explore the causes of their own characteristics. By comparing with the former two parts, we can find that the two kinds of textbooks have their own advantages and disadvantages in children image. In order to achieve our research purpose, we should notice the disadvantages of Jiang Su primary school Chinese textbook compared with Kai Ming Mandarin textbook. As a result, in the third chapter of the paper, the author summarizes the shortcomings of Jiang Su primary school Chinese textbook and learn from the advantages of Kai Ming Mandarin textbook. And put forward some suggestions for the improvement of Jiang Su primary school Chinese textbook in children image's text, external characteristics and good qualities. The conclusion part summarizes the full text.
