Abstract/Summary:
Mathematics comes from our life, and it is in our daily life.As a basic subject,it has a great contribution to our life, production and science and technology. Therefore, mathematics has received great attention. However,we often found that girls are often better than boys in learning mathematics when they in primary school and junior high school. But after high school, mathematics is more abstract and flexible,it showed obvious differences between male and female students in mathematics learning.Boys catch up girls, and girls’ scores decreased very significantly. This phenomenon has aroused widespread concern of educators both at home and abroad. Many educators and researchers have devoted themselves to the study of gender differences in mathematics learning between male and female students.Based on the domestic and foreign research results, using the method of literature research, questionnaire survey method, interview method and parameter test method in two levels of school in Wanzhou,Chongqing. The students have been chosen from Grade 3 in high school. It involved a questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics, scores of classroom observation and interviews. It found that gender differences in learning does exist objectively high school mathematics, from high to high school(june 2017 to participate in college entrance examination)boys gradually higher than girls, boys and the stability is better than girls in math. This paper divides the contents of the questionnaire into eight dimensions:learning interest and ability, learning attitude, test mood, learning strategies, family education, teacher education, social environment influence and teacher’s gender influence.Through the statistical analysis of the questionnaire survey data, the factors that led to gender differences in mathematics can be summarized as the following eight aspects:the difference of personality psychological quality, the difference of self-discipline ability, the difference of frustration ability, the difference of learning mode, five, the parents lack the correct educational philosophy, six, teachers’ prejudice of gender, seven, social temptation and social prejudice, eight, imbalance between male and female teachers.According to the above reasons, this study puts forward three suggestions for the gender differences in mathematics learning:First, facing up to gender differences, which is the most important measure.According to the differences between boys and girls from the survey data,we should take the right measures. For boys,we should improve their ability of self-discipline,optimize their learning methods, and teach them learn to refuse temptation. For example:(1)to guide boys correctly to take notes(2)to strengthen boys’ ability of math reading(3)to guide boys to reject the temptation of the network; For girls,we should stimulate their interest in learning, improve frustration, optimize learning methods, such as:(1)to stimulate female students’ interest in mathematics learning and to strengthen the frustrated education,(2)to strengthen the girls’ thinking ability training,(3)to develop girls to create mathematical awareness.Second, eliminating gender bias and improving gender awareness. This study is concerned with two aspects:(1)promoting the establishment of the correct gender concept to join the teacher training content(2)promoting the establishment of the correct gender concept to join the pta.Third, balancing the proportion of male and female teachers. In the research, mainly elaborated two aspects:(1)the reform teacher profession view(2)the government has improved the corresponding mechanism to promote men to engage in the teaching profession. The study range, time, the author’ s theory and practice is limited,it will lead to more or less shortcomings in this research. In the future, this study will continue to do the research about the gender differences in educational methods.
