Many past studies suggest that boys mathematics scores significantly higher than girls in high school. There are many articles on that including academic thesis and educational professionals works. However, what has happened in recent years is just on the contrary. Except for mathematics competition, girls mathematics scores higher than, or even much higher than boys no matter in small tests at school or middle and final term examinations. This both exists at the average score and the standard deviation. This paper mainly focuses on whether there is gender differences in mathematics learning in high school. It starts with the comparison of boys and girls final examination results at the last year of their junior high school. This paper explores the influences of their high school study on their learning. The research method of this study is a combination of comparative study, questionnaire, case study, interview, results tracking statistical analysis and competition performance analysis etc. It is to explore the gender differences in mathematics learning. The research findings show that the gender differences exists. Reasons for that include physical differences, the influence of non-intellectual factors and social factors. In order to reduce these differences, this paper gives some suggestions. These suggestions have the following requirements: Teachers need to have a correct gender consciousness to guide students; We need to improve the gender ratios in teachers team and to bring up students different personality; We need to develop students interests in mathematics learning as interests are the driving forces for learning. When having interests, student can still achieve excellent results even if it is very hard and tiring to get it; Teachers need to adapt active teaching style, perform a certain teaching reform to having good teaching effect; It is more important to cultivate students strong will, good self-control which will play an important role in their future study and work. Students are the future of our country. They are bearing our hopes to the future. The gender differences in mathematics learning reminds we teachers to make efforts to build environment suited for individual students development and make efforts to improve our teaching level.
