In recent years,the Ministry of Education has been advocating project-based learning in professional course in vocational schools all the time.Howeve r,due to the influence of traditional teaching method,the project-based learning has yet been executed in vocational schools.With “Hydraulic and Pneumatic Transmission” course in vocation school as the example,taking project-based learning as basis,this paper makes a systematic research on the feasibility and application of project-based learning in “Hydraulic and Pneumatic Transmission” course teaching in vocational school through designed application and implementing experiment of project-based learning.The research background,summary of literature,research content and thesis framework are introduced in Chapter I,Introduction.Based on review of studies on relevant theories of project-based learning,the content,characteristic,implementation principle and application procedures of the project-based learning are stated in Chapter II to generate the theoretical framework of this study.Chapters III to V take the “Hydraulic and Pneumatic Transmission” course in vocation school as the example.Chapter III analyzes the disadvantages,curriculum objectives,teaching content and teaching conditions of the traditional course of “Hydraulic and Pneumatic Transmission” and demonstrates the applicability of project-based learning for “Hydraulic and Pneumatic Transmission” course in vocation school.According to the study,project-based teaching could reflect the teaching principles to take the students as subject and occupational activity as guidance to realize better teaching effect.Chapter IV describes step by step how to use the project-based teaching for overall teaching design,teaching design for unit items and teaching implementation plan of single task in the course of “Hydraulic and Pneumatic Transmission” to generate teaching design achievement for the application of project-based learning.Chapter V made a teaching experiment with the teaching design achievement in a vocational school.The comparison class adopts the traditional teaching mode while the experiment class is taught with project-based teaching.Based on the performance comparison and questionnaire data,project-based teaching is considered to improve students' interest in learning and their performance which is feasible and effective in teaching “Hydraulic and Pneumatic Transmission” in vocation school.In the final Chapter,based on the overall study process and data outcome,it is found that project-based teaching could highlight the principal status of students,improve students' interest in learning and is beneficial for students to acquire the occupational capability.However,in the application in vocational school,it is easy to be faced with the problems,such as the teaching resource is not sufficient,the learning system is not powerful and the examination is easily subjective,etc.The practical,systematic,real and feasible principles are further emphasized in the project-based teaching.Also efforts should be made on assessments on requirements for teachers and students in implementation of project-based teaching to really make the project-based learning effective.
