Language is a tool for human beings to communicate,whose messages are transmitted from mouth to ear,being transitory and limited by time and space.The emergence of the characters overcame the limitations of the language by space and time,so that it can be used more widely and endure longer.As the writing system of the Chinese language,Chinese characters are the current and the only official writing system in China.As the world's most distinctive writing system,Chinese characters' function in disseminating culture is unrivaled,the unique combinations of Chinese characters are rich in ancient Chinese culture and history.It is necessary for any Chinese to learn and master Chinese characters.The study of Chinese characters mainly takes place with literacy textbooks.Chinese characters are an important part of literacy textbooks,so it is more professional,scientific and convincing to study Chinese characters in literacy textbooks.The significance of the study of Chinese characters in literacy textbooks is to provide the basis for further study of Chinese characters,and to provide some conclusions for the application and development of Chinese characters.The author uses these materials to establish the corpus: Three Character Classic,Family Names,Thousand Words(hereinafter referred to as "Three Hundred Thousand")Dragon Whip Shadow and the new words lists in primary Chinese textbooks(PEP version and JEP version).Drew the corresponding digital information,and made a comprehensive description of usage in "Three Hundred Thousand",Dragon Whip Shadow and the new words lists in primary Chinese textbooks(PEP version and JEP version).On the basis of quantitative research,this study focus on qualitative analysis of Chinese characters.With the help of corpus established from "Three Hundred Thousand",Dragon Whip Shadow and the new words lists in primary Chinese textbooks(PEP version and JEP version),the author made statistical analysis and obtained digital information,based on fully quantified method,using the methods of literature research,corpus method,statistical method and comparative method,made a qualitative analysis to the specific usage of Chinese characters in "Three Hundred Thousand",Dragon Whip Shadow and the new words lists in primary Chinese textbooks(PEP version and JEP version).Based on statistical analysis of amount and sorts of Chinese characters in "Three Hundred Thousand",Dragon Whip Shadow and the new words lists in primary Chinese textbooks(PEP version and JEP version),this study carried out a diachronic comparative study between the Chinese characters in "Three Hundred Thousand",Dragon Whip Shadow and the Chinese characters in the new words lists in primary Chinese textbooks(PEP version and JEP version),The List of Commonly Used Chinese Curriculum Standards of Compulsory Education,General Standard Characters.Meanwhile this study carried out a comparative analysis from Synchronic angle between the new words lists in primary Chinese textbooks(PEP version and JEP version)and The List of Commonly Used Chinese Curriculum Standards of Compulsory Education,General Standard Characters,made a multifaceted research on the use of Chinese characters in ancient and modern literacy textbooks.By establishing the corpus of Chinese characters used in traditional elementary literacy teaching materials and current literacy textbooks,this study made multifaceted statistical analysis on Chinese characters usage in literacy textbooks,found the advantages and disadvantages of different literacy textbooks,and made some suggestions about learning Chinese characters,provided the basis for the further study on the Chinese characters.It also have a certain reference value on Chinese characters culture's heritage,pupils' Chinese characters learning and the edition of Chinese characters literacy textbooks.
