Undergraduate research has proved to be a means of solving the quality of undergraduate education.Most of the researches on undergraduate research were based on research outcomes,research ability.And there is no research about the impact of research experience on students' research ideas.Therefore,this paper chooses the Shanghai University Student Innovation Program(abridge as "large program" the following)as case to explore the experience of participating in a research project to the significance of undergraduate research.Specifically,exploring how undergraduates can study research while participating in a major project,how research experiences affect their research concepts,and explain their learning from their perspective.And a large project has been implemented for 10 years,and the establishment of a sound management approach and working mechanism.All aspects of this program are mature,so can be used as the case undergraduate research to study.Based on the theory of situated learning and John Dewey's concept of experience,I used qualitative research method to select 10 undergraduates who participate in 2016 major projects in S university as the main research object,and then select 4 as the focus object,then subjects were interviewed and observed.In order to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the situation in which these students learn study,I observed a variety of activities of the project organization.In addition,I also analyzed the personal resume of the study object and the related information.Through the data analysis,discussing the concept of undergraduate research focused on the meaning of research experience from students' perspective.The study found :(1)undergraduates had had a substantial understanding of the research in their field of study;(2)by participating in a major project,undergraduates further strengthen their views of research objectives and processes in their field;(3)The experience of participating this program enhanced the confidence of undergraduate view themselves as a new researcher in their field;(4)Undergraduates discovered the structure of this program,the activities of the organization,and the guidance of the organization's activities,as well as the guidance of the project.The relationship between the teacher's relationship and the project team's peers also facilitate their study.This study provides a new perspective on therelationship between previous research experience and learning research from the perspective of project participants.The results of the study show that the different experiences of previous studies will affect the degree and depth of the change of research ideas.In addition,the great project to the students to complete the study of the importance of supporting the study of student learning.Finally,the study also found that undergraduates may be in the experience of a large project in the harvest attributed to the completion of the project subject experience,so this project research experience was precious to undergraduate.
