The Chinese Character writing teaching is essential in elementary Chinese program During the graduate study,the researcher followed her tutor engaged in the program that use technology to support Chinese writing teaching.Researcher had been thinking about how to use related software in Chinese Character writing teaching.The purposes of this study are as follows:To find out the effect of using Chinese Writing software in Chinese Character teaching compared to the traditional approach;To find out the effect of using different approaches between advanced and not so-advanced students;To find out if there contains different effect between students using Chinese Writing software.This study is a quasi-experimental research for third grade students from the researcher's class.After randomly dividing the subjects into two groups with Educational Software-Assisted Chinese Character(ESACC)and traditional approach,one test was utilized to determine the effect of different approaches after the experiment.The data collected in this study was analyzed with three statistic methods:One-way ANOVA,Independent-Samples T Test and Descriptive statistics.The major results of the research are as follows:Using ESACC in Chinese Character training in elementary Chinese program proved to be more effective than the traditional approach.;Using ESACC for advanced students proved to more effective than the traditional approach.However,there is no statistically significant effect for not-so-advanced students with different approaches;As for the different features of students:using ESACC for male students proved to more effective than female students;using ESACC for Class Committees proved to more effective than other students;less expect for Chinese Character writing students proved to more effective than high proved to more effective than female students;there is no statistically significant effect for using ESACC for the low Chinese Character writing level students whose parents pay less attention to their writing behavior.Finally,several suggestions is provided for Chinese teachers,related education departments and references to the future study.
