The high permeability and universality of information technology promote the technological progress of various industries,it will become the entry point of various industry reform.Education is also experiencing a series of impact come from information technology such as teaching mode,teaching content,educational organization form and so on,the integration of geography teaching and information technology has become the trend of the times.In this paper,on the basis of reading a lot of related literature to clear the research topics,summarizes the research background,research significance and status at home and abroad of information technology application in senior high school geography teaching,analyzes the deficiencies in the integration practice of domestic information technology and geography teaching briefly;this paper defines and analyzes the concept and classification of information technology,and expounds the theoretical basis of information technology applied in senior high school geography teaching from four aspects of constructivism theory,multiple intelligence theory,information processing theory and hybrid learning theory.using case analysis and questionnaire survey methods,analyzing the information technology application status in the "case study" and "investigation study" two aspects,on the one hand,this paper analyzes the application,opportunity and purpose of information technology in practical teaching based on case study;on the other hand,analyzes application of software and hardware support status,the possibility of application,teachers' and students' attitudes to information technology application in geography teaching and so on in senior high school geography teaching,through the questionnaire survey analysis.Then,through the literature research,reference the application principles of information technology of other disciplines and combining with the characteristics of geography to structure the application principle and macro application strategy of information technology in high school geography teaching,in addition,under the guidance of application strategy and learning process model to structure the information technology specific application strategy based on geographical knowledge classification.The writer try to carry out some teaching case design and practice and reflect on the teaching design,summarizing the problems in practice based on the research of the information technology,opportunity,principle and strategy,besides,put forward the direction of further research on the basis of this research.The author through the investigation found that the application of information technology in geography teaching is more common,but there are also corresponding problems need teachers and students to overcome.and,on the basis of the summary of this study to outlook the research on the application of information technology in geography teaching: the advantage ofinformation technology as a auxiliary tool has not been shown,its efficiency and optimization application need to be further advanced;The construction of information technology application strategy based on knowledge classification is still in the preliminary exploration stage,which needs further research.
