In the context of informatization,countries all over the world have entered the era of education informatization.In recent years,my country has successively issued a series of policies such as the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for Education Informatization" and "Education Informatization 2.0 Action Plan".It can be seen that the trend of education informatization is unstoppable,and teachers must improve the level of information technology application to meet the huge challenges brought by education informatization.Urumqi’s education and information resources are relatively backward,and teachers’ use of information technology has difficulties such as weak foundations and low starting points.Improving the use of information technology by teachers in Urumqi is a prerequisite for sharing high-quality resources,which is conducive to the localization of high-quality educational resources,narrows the educational gap between the east and the west,and promotes the development of teaching informatization.The article adopts literature inquiry method,interview method,questionnaire survey method,and inductive analysis method.Firstly,it analyzes the importance of improving the application level of information technology for senior geography teachers in Urumqi City through literature review,understands the research status at home and abroad,discusses the research background,clarifies the research content and research methods,and defines important concepts.Secondly,combined with interviews,a high school geography teacher information technology application level test model was constructed,and the Urumqi city geography teacher information technology application level survey questionnaire was designed using the model.After the test,the reliability and validity of the questionnaire were analyzed to verify the timeliness of the questionnaire.Finally,the survey was carried out in Urumqi City,and SPSS26.0 software was used to analyze the problems in the application of information technology of Urumqi high school geography teachers,and proposed improvement strategies.Through the above research,the following conclusions are obtained:1.By comparing the teacher information technology competence standards of China,UNESCO,and the United States,construct the concept of information technology,information technology infrastructure,teacher technology level,information technology and classroom fit,classroom teaching evaluation feedback,teacher innovation and growth,The teacher’s teaching and research status has a total of 7 first-level dimensions and 31second-level measurement models,which are reasonable and reliable,and the reliability and validity of the designed questionnaire are high.2.Analysis of the differences shows that: Urumqi high school information technology facilities are not in place,teachers lack the energy to learn informatization teaching,and the awareness of informatization teaching is weak,schools have no standard requirements for the use of information technology in the classroom,and geography teachers’ level of information technology use It is mere formality,the number of highly educated teachers is small,and the development of schools of different levels is uneven.3.Aiming at the current situation of Urumqi’s senior high school geography teachers’ information technology application level,“improving the current situation of information technology facilities”,“establishing and improving internal and external training and assessment mechanisms”,“increasing the number of school logistics positions”,“increasing opportunities for teacher demonstration classes”,and “increasing The number of highly educated teachers,promote the balanced development of education,and“cooperate at the social level to encourage teachers to become research-oriented teachers”six-point promotion strategy.
