Geographic information technology has been rapidly developed for decades,popular used in each range of national economy.Learning and mastering the basic knowledge of geographic information technology turns into a necessary geographic literacy for modern citizens. Under the background of new curriculum,the position and role of the application of geographic information technology is increased in middle school geography teaching content,fully included in the high school geography curriculum system.The necessity and importance of geographic information technology in middle school geography teaching is affirmed by more and more people.However,at present,researchers focus on the teaching methods and means of geographic information technology,researching very little about the content of the course.This paper researches on theoretical exploration and practice of the teaching content in the “geographic information technology".Besides,aiming at the current situation of middle school geography information technology teaching,this paper proposes effective teaching strategies.Using the investigation of Questionnaire survey,this paper conducts a survey of the current situation of middle school geography information technology teaching.By statistic analysis,I summarize the main existing problems of the current situation of middle school geography information technology teaching:Teachers have the ability to enhance the actual effect of classroom teaching.Teaching resource remains to strengthen further.Infrastructure condition remains to be further improved.Relevant training effect remains to be further improved.There are almost no schools open《Geographic information technology application》elective module.Aiming at these existing problems and combining with the existing objective conditions,this paper puts forward effective teaching strategies :In terms of teaching staff construction,improve teachers’ ability of teaching and research in geography information technology,and reform geography teacher education in colleges.In terms of geography information technology teaching resource development,strengthen the software and hardware construction about middle school geography information technology,as well as enrich the database of geography information technology.This paper is divided into five chapters.Chapter one is introduction,illustrates the research background and significance,and reviews the relevant literature.Based on above,the research ’ s contents, methods and technical route are determined.On the foundation of defining the relevant concepts,Chapter two analyzes the geography information technology under the high school geography curriculum from the text perspective.Chapter three studies the current situation of middle school geography information technology teaching by questionnaire survey,then analyzes and concludes the existing problems.Chapter four puts forward relevant teaching strategies to solve the problems above. Chapter five is conclusion.
