Physics curriculum standard in compulsory education stage aims to improve students' scientific literacy. Accordingly, we will also use it as the basic criteria to evaluate the teaching quality.This study aims to understand the high school named N as a representative of the ordinary junior middle school on the cultivation of scientific literacy of students. For reference, we also selected Shuren junior middle school which is famous for its high teaching quality as control.This research divided scientific literacy into two dimensions: scientific knowledge and ability; scientific attitude and responsibility. This research connects knowledge and ability with the core concepts in eight-grade. The scientific study ability examines the core standards which are listed on science curriculum standard. In addition, scientific attitudes and responsibilities tend to evaluate students' understandings of the essence of Physics,and their consciousness to apply physics knowledge to benefit mankind. In order to achieve the above objectives, this study based on the two-authoritative survey. To guarantee the reliability and validity, this study selected students from two schools, and interviewed some individuals. The results of this study are as follows:(1)With respect to cultivate students' scientific literacy, there are great differences between the schools selected. School named N is significantly inferior to Shuren middle school in teaching scientific knowledge and nurturing ability.(2)Students' command of scientific literacy is not affected by gender factors.(3)There is a good consistency between the two dimensions of students' scientific literacy,which indicates that the improvement of students' scientific knowledge and ability is helpful for improving their scientific attitude and responsibilities.(4)Students are able to deal with well-structured problems, while have difficulties in solving original problem associated with the real situations.(5)Students of N school lacks knowledge in the experiment.According to the conclusion of this study, the following suggestions are put forward for Physics Teaching in middle school.(1)Junior high school physics teaching should pay attention to the representation of the image and intuitive.(2) we should apply the physical problems in real lives to encourage students to study"from life to physics".(3) in physics teaching, we should utilities the small experiment and normalize it, so as to improve the students' ability to explore independently.
