With the penetration of high education,its scale is expanded and students' abilities and types vary increasing the complexity of administration.Besides,the points system is applied in universities nationwide which provides more choices to students so that they can arrange their time accordingly.At the same time,we have higher expectation about their self-control ability.Under this context,many students encounter lots of problems that challenge high education administration system.It hinders graduates'ability and increases drop-out rates.In order to deal with the incompatible high education administration and university students' ability,many universities adopted academic warning system.It connects students,parents and universities to solve academic problems and take measures accordingly so that every student can graduate smoothly.As a scientific high education administration tool,it demonstrates students-oriented spirit in this field.And it also reflects the significance of formative comments.The system is very important to high education administration.This paper adopted textual and survey research methods to analyze academic performance warning system of Jilin University,Wuhan University,and Xi'an University of Post&Telecommunications,etc.The author targeted at post-graduates in three northwest universities in China which have adopted the system for many years.The research focuses on the status quo of the system application and students' demand in order to recognize problems as well as providing possible solutions.It may be a reference for the high education reform.The thesis includes five parts.First part is introduction that illustrates background,meaning,status quo,content and method of this thesis.Second part is theoretical support that includes concept clarifications of point system,academic warning system.And the author also narrates related theories like procedural justice theory,humanistic theory and formative assessment theory.The third part is textual analysis of dozens of universities in China.It focuses on analyzing the structure,content and framework of them.In terms of content,the paper covers following dimensions:time arrangement,level and content,procedures and personnel of warning.Through the analysis,the author finds current academic warning system has following problems:improper warning time arrangement,index is limited,systematic and mechanism imperfection,and personnel inadequacy.The fourth part is a questionnaire based on full time post-graduate students of S,N,E in northwest China.It surveys the demand of students and current situation of the system.The survey shows that students' awareness about it is insufficient,and they are willing to turn to classmates and teachers rather than the system.The system is not fully implemented.The fifth part is possible solutions.It includes establishing modern academic warning system,facilitating implementation environment for the system,strengthening parents and universities communication and reforming universities criteria for school performance.
