Content:As we all know,verb overlapping is a very common grammatical phenomenon in modern Chinese language,especially in speaking Chinese,the verb overlapping is widely used in our daily life.In some respects it can be said that its significance is similar to that of the morphological changes of verbs in Indo-European Languages.The overlapping of verbs makes the Chinese,which lacks morphological changes,appear in various forms.On the other hand,the overlapping forms of Chinese verbs are various and different forms have different syntactic functions and grammatical meanings.Therefore,in the field of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language,verbal overlapping is one of the focus and difficulty in Chinese grammar teaching.Correspondingly,the Chinese Proficiency Test Syllabus,compiled by the Office of the Clnnese National Office for International Promotion of Chinese Language("Hanban"),also lists Chinese verb overlapping as one of the test sites.Based on the one-year experience of Chinese teaching in Thailand,I found that,although there are also verb-overlapping in Thai,Thai students who learn Chinese rarely use Chinese verb overlapping.And they often take a strategy of avoidance in the daily communication with me.In addition,many times when they use the Chinese verbs overlap,there will be a lot of mistakes.Therefore,this paper will take how to teach Chinese learners in Thailand learn and even use verb overlapping as the subject.Based on this,this paper will prepare two jobs-the collection of natural language investigation about verb overlapping and questionnaires which aimed at figuring out the actual situation about the learning and use of verb overlapping.On the basis of collection and questionnaires,the paper will objectively describe the actual situation about the use of the Chinese verb overlapping of Thailand learners.In addition,this paper will collect and analyze the results of Chinese verbal overlapping by Chinese scholars in the field of Chinese grammar research.Based on these studies,the author will analyze the reasons why the students have made a lot of mistakes when they learn and use Chinese verb overlapping.On the other hand,this paper,based on the present actual learning situation of Thailand students,will redefine the Chinese verbs overlapping which is different from the explanation by the Chinese academic.Finally,according to the actual demand of teaching Chinese in Thailand,some suggestions and methods for verbal overlap teaching in Thailand will be put forward.It is hoped that this study will provide some reference value for the verb overlapping in the field of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language,especially in Thailand.It is hoped that the research of this paper can expand the field of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.The paper consists from the following six chapters:The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly discusses the reason why I choose this topic,which includes the significance of the research,the current situation of the research.I will also point out the research scope,research ideas and sources of the corpus.Finally,I will make a brief introduction of the related theoretical basis.The second chapter is the redefinition of verb overlapping in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language in Thailand.In this chapter,we will examine the different forms of Chinese verbs overlapping,syntactic functions and grammatical meanings,and the make a definition on verbs overlapping which is different from the explanation made by Chinese academics,aimed at promoting Chinese teaching in Thailand.In the third chapter,I will describe the current learning and use situation of overlapping verbs of Chinese learners in Thailand,which is based on the data from natural language collection and the results from questionnaires.At the same time the errors and mistakes in the process of overlapping verbs acquisition will be described.In the forth chapter,I will explore the causes of Chinese verbs' overlapping errors in Chinese learners in Thailand.The objective and subjective causes of Chinese learners' errors in learning Chinese verbs overlap are identified according to the error types of Thailand students.In the fifth chapter,I will put forward the teaching materials and teaching suggestions on the teaching of Chinese verbs overlapping in Thailand.Based on the results of this research and the learning characteristics of Thailand students,aiming at the reasons of errors in the process of learning,I will put forward the teaching materials compilation and teaching activities to make appropriate recommendations.The sixth chapter is conclusion and prospect.
