According to the requirements of the Chinese Course Standard for Primary School by the Chinese Ministry of Education,the writing course in primary school is supposed to enable the pupil express themselves by use language and understand themselves and the world.Writing ability is the comprehensive embodiment of Chinese.Our pupil can write the simple documentary composition and imagination composition,content should be specific,feeling should be true.However,our primary school students are likely to make quite a few mistakes in their writing,no matter in the exams or in the daily training.Most experts mainly focus on “topic-conceiving consciousness”,“ grammar consciousness ”.“rhetorical consciousness” and “ framework consciousness' 'in their evaluation on the mistakes in the compositions written by high school students.Few researchers have done the analysis from the discourse perspective,especially from the perspective of textual coherence,when giving their attention and evaluation to the mistakes made by high school students in their writing.Based on the above cognition,this article is to analyze the mistakes in primary schoolStudents compositions from the perspective of discourse analysis,trying to apply the theories on textual coherence,combined with our writing teaching practice,to summarize and analyze the problems of coherence failure in the collected compositions of primary school students,to summarize the reasons for the failuresand to put forward the strategies for constructing coherent discourses to guide the writingpractice of primary school,andthus improve the students 's abilities to write coherentarticles.This paper includes mainly the following five chapters:Chapter one summarizes the basic requirements on the writingabilities of textual coherence for primary students by the Syllabus,the Course Standard.Meanwhile,it gives a brief description of the following two parts: the present level of primary school students of writing coherent articles,the research status of coherence failure in writing and the research orientation of the writing teaching in contemporary society.Chapter two expounds the related theories on textual coherence.Chapter three mainly analyzes the problems of coherence failure in the collected compositions written by some primary school students include the students of different grades.Chapter four explores the causes of coherence failure in writing from the following parts: oral language disturbance,dialect influence,text books and Chinese teaching,etc.Chapter five discusses four strategies for constructing coherent discourses based on our writing teaching practice:systematically permeating the knowledge on textual coherence,applying cohesive devices,utilizingthe Inverse Macroscopic Rule of discourse and making use of the description patters of the discourse's literary style.Chapter six make the conclusion that the point of knowledge of textual cohesion was not causing the enough attention by teachers and the mistakes of textual cohesion are outstanding.
