Writing "to be coherent" is the basic requirement of the curriculum standard for junior high school students’ writing.A composition that follows the word should be properly connected and semantically coherent.However,the current writing situation of some junior high school students is not ideal,and there are still some problems in grammar cohesion,vocabulary cohesion and semantic coherence.Taking junior high school students’ composition discourse as the object of study,this paper combines the theory of discourse cohesion and coherence with junior high school Chinese writing teaching,mainly analyzes the situation and existing problems in composition discourse,summarizes the types of problems,discusses the causes of problems,and explores teaching strategies,aiming at helping students establish their awareness of discourse cohesion and coherence,learning to use cohesive devices and improving their ability to write coherent discourse.This paper is divided into five parts.Chapter 1 Introduction,mainly expounds the origin,research value,research object and research content of the paper,defines the core concepts,combs the research status and introduces the research methods.Chapter 2 recognizes the specific cohesive devices and analyzes the cohesion and coherence problems in junior high school students’ compositions.Taking junior high school students’ compositions as the object of study,based on the theory of discourse cohesion and coherence,this paper analyzes referential cohesion,ellipsis cohesion,substitution cohesion,logical cohesion and lexical cohesion,and analyzes and summarizes the situation and existing problems of discourse cohesion and coherence in junior high school students’ compositions.Chapter 3 analyzes the causes of problems in discourse cohesion and coherence in junior high school students’ compositions.By consulting relevant literature,combining with the actual teaching situation and analyzing the problems in students’ compositions,this paper summarizes the causes of cohesion and coherence in junior high school students’ compositions from three aspects: textbooks,teachers and students.First,at the textbook level,the teaching knowledge about discourse cohesion and coherence in textbooks lacks systematicness and operability.Second,at the teacher level,from the perspective of teaching awareness,most teachers lack the teaching awareness of discourse cohesion and coherence knowledge.From the perspective of teaching methods,the strategy of "promoting writing by reading" is insufficiently used,ignoring the role of combining reading and writing.Third,at the student level,students lack the awareness and related knowledge of discourse cohesion and coherence,and lack related exercises.Chapter 4 puts forward teaching strategies aiming at the problems existing in cohesion and coherence of junior high school students’ compositions.Based on the problems,this paper puts forward teaching strategies from three aspects: the study of cohesion and coherence knowledge,the training of cohesion means and the evaluation of discourse.Chapter 5 combines cohesion and coherence theory,and puts forward writing instructional design of narrative style and explanatory style respectively.Finally,the conclusion part makes a general summary of the full text,and summarizes the research results and shortcomings.
