Tourism as a historical phenomenon, its growth has experienceda long process. From the human began to understand the travel,tourism activities began to slowly developed and formed a certainregularity. The regularity of tourism activities are cannot dowithout the development of social background is the law of anycountry in the world. The development of Britain tourism activitiesin the rules, The British has experienced of the industrialrevolution which happened in the second half of the eighteenthCentury, ended in nineteenth Century20-30years later, Thetremendous technological change made the British touristactivities very difference after industrial revolution, thesechanges are mainly as follows:, tourism motivation, the developmentof travel agent,the augment of tourist etc..The main causes ofthese changes is industrial revolution, this technology revolutionhas brought about great changes in politics and economy, traffic,and ideological fields of UK, it is these changes, that makes thetourism activities has different characteristics in the two periods.In this paper, through the comparison of the tourism activities andtourists, analysis of the characteristics of tourism activities andexplain the reason, and using the specific examples to prove theclose relationship between tourism and social development, andprovide the reference for the development of modern tourism.
