The tourism industry is booming in China in recent years, thus China has become the world's fourthlargest tourist receptioncountry, Asia's largest out bound tourist market. In China, the per capita tourism rate reaches 1.5 times and 13.5 million people are employed in main jobs in tourism. The tourism consumption accounts for over 10% of general social consumption in China. The positive function of tourism to Chinese economic and social development is becoming more obvious. The unpredicted growth of tourism in China has caused a dramatically increasing demand of talent in tourism. So far the amount of talent in tourism is in a severe shortage of supply, the Chinese tourism industry is suffering from skilled-labour bottleneck. Since a business or an industry could not be prosperous without suitable talent, the training and development of talent in tourism is a key requirement of implementing the Scientific Outlook in tourism and a key factor to improve the quality of employers in tourism as well. C City, a core city included by the South Anhui International Cultural Tourism Demonstration Area, has taken the development of tourism as one of main measures to boost local economy. Hence, the city is facing the urgent task of training a group of high-quality and competitive talent in tourism.Strengthening the training of groups of talents in tourism is an important meth od to facilitate the stable and healthy development of tourism economy in C City as well as an indispensible element of realizing the aim of boosting the city's economy and accelerate the fostering of the South Anhui International Cultural Tourism Demonstration Area via developing the tourism industry.Furthermore, it's also a useful way of transforming economic development mode and building a well-off society in an all-round way. Till now, the academic circle has not formed any systematic research on theories and practices of training and development of talent in tourism of C City.Through visiting related enterprises and official organizations in tourism in C City, this essay has collected large amounts of documents and statistical data and did comparative analysis on the present situation of training and development of talent in the tourism industry of C City based on such documents and data. The essay has analyzed the problems existed in the training and development of talent in the tourism and proposed countermeasures of solving those problems. An integrated theoretical framework has been formed which offers theoretical basis for related governmental departments to formulate policies supporting sound and rapid improvement of training and development of talent in the tourism industry. In addition, it contains great research value for the development of tourism in C City and even the development of overall economy and society.
