Research On The Competitiveness Of Natural Gas Industry In Sichuan Based On Diamond Model

Natural gas is a kind of high quality clean energy and important chemical raw material. In recent years, the development and utilization of natural gas resources in our country are listed as the key point of energy development, The Chinese government has introduced a series of policies to support the development of natural gas industry.Sichuan province is rich in natural gas resources and has a long history of natural gas development and utilization, the natural gas industry has been a pillar industry in Sichuan.Therefore, how to promote the development of Sichuan natural gas industry and improve its competitiveness, obtain the advantage position in Chinese natural gas market competition becomes a worthy subject.This paper combined with the existing literature and subject, based on Diamond Model and the theory of industrial competitiveness, puts forward the necessity and importance of the research in Sichuan natural gas industry competitiveness, summarizes its development status.From five factors including,the production elements, demand conditions, related and supporting industries, enterprise strategy, structure, competitors and the government analyses the competitiveness of Sichuan natural gas industry.On this basis,builds the evaluation index system and evaluates the competitiveness of Sichuan natural gas industry by using the method of grey correlation degree.Finally, discusses the measures to enhance the competitiveness of Sichuan natural gas industry.The study shows that Sichuan natural gas industry competitiveness ranks first in the major natural gas producing provinces in China, with a strong comprehensive competitive strength. Sichuan natural gas industry has a certain competitive advantage in the primary factor,the advanced factors need to be nurtured; has a strong market demand, need to optimize the demand structure; related and supporting industries provides effective support for the development of natural gas industry, but the level of industry organization and the capability of independent innovation needs to be improved;gas industry competition structure is not benign, natural gas enterprises need to improve their management level; the government created a good policy environment, but the construction of the legal system is relatively backward.The main countermeasures to enhance the competitiveness of Sichuan natural gas industry include:increase investment in research and cooperation, enhance the ability of technological innovation; strengthen the development of human resources, cultivate professional personnel. Strengthen the construction of natural gas supply capacity and improve the comprehensive utilization efficiency of natural gas resources.develop related industries; construct the natural gas industry cluster. Deepen the reform of the management system and implement the strategy of sustainable development. Improve government functions and formulate relevant laws and regulations.
