As in recent years, the economy is in a downward cycle, and due to the marketization of interest rate, financial disintermediation, non-performing loans rebound factors, traditional business profit space in commercial banks is more and more narrow. To conform to the trend of the times, it is in proper meantime to look for new profit growth point and develop investment banking.For the banking business situation of JS bank in M province, based on the theory of commercial bank and investment bank theory, the paper analyzes the representatives from the status of commercial banks to develop investment banking business at home and abroad, and the implementation situation of investment banking business. The paper applies SWOT analysis method to the analysis of opportunities and challenges in the banking business, the existence of advantages and disadvantages, and brief contrast analysis local investment banking's main rival Bank N, points out the shortcomings of itself.According to the current situation business development of JS bank in M province, combined with the actual economic development situation of M province, and based on the reference to domestic and foreign commercial banks in developing investment banking business ideas, ways and experience, the paper propose the business development target and location of JS bank in M province (In 2016, JS bank investment banking business are aimed to achieve "three improvements, Three Guarantees" target, to match with the investment bank's market position of JS bank, asset size and the number of customers.
