Measurement And Analysis Of Influencing Factors About Income Gap Between Urban And Rural Residents In Jiangxi Province

Since the reform and opening-up,the government has gradually realized the importance of economic construction.China has changed its old appearance and began to move forward in the direction of advanced modernization.Jiangxi Province is a backward province in China's interior,the steady growth of its GDP,further optimization of the three major industrial structure,the province's economic strength even more abundant,the people's living standard also has a new improvement,followed by the growing imbalance of the economic development between urban and rural areas.The current situation of income gap is larger.On one hand,it has a negative impact in the sustainable development of economy in Jiangxi Province.On the other hand,it has brought obstacles to the construction of a harmonious society.Therefore,this paper takes the invisible income of urban and rural residents into account,analyses Jiangxi Province's income gap,then explores the impact of Jiangxi Province's income gap between the various economic factors and non economic factors,analyses the influence mechanism and puts forward ideas to solve the problem.Chapter 1 is the introduction which is divided into 4 sections,the first section introduces the background and significance of the research on the problem of income gap in Jiangxi Province;the second section summarizes research status at home and abroad of invisible income and income gap's influencing factors as well as literature summary;the third section describes the research ideas and methods of this paper;the fourth section explains the innovation of this paper and the deficiency of the invisible income measurement.Chapter 2 is the concept definition,theoretical reference and method review which defines concepts related to income.The National Bureau of Statistics survey of households income and recessive income are defined in detail.Draw lessons from the relevant theory of income gap analysis.Such as Kuznets "inverted U" hypothesis theory,dual economic structure theory and the theory of income distribution.Simply introduces several methods of measuring income gap,such as urban and rural residents income ratio,Gini coefficient,Theil index.And the advantages and disadvantages of every measurement method in the use are summarized.Chapter 3 is the measurement and analysis of the income gap between urban and rural residents in Jiangxi Province which is divided into 3 sections.Refers relevant data from the statistical yearbook of Jiangxi Province to do statistical analysis of the income gap in Jiangxi Province.From the first section I found that there is a certain degree of invisible income of urban and rural residents in Jiangxi Province by calculating the invisible income.And the invisible income's scale of urban residents is larger than that of the rural residents.Reading a lot of the latest literature,we can know that similar studies ignore the invisible income which lead to an untrue income gap between urban and rural residents.The second section analyses the relative income gap between urban and rural residents in Jiangxi Province from 1978 to 2013,the results show that it has experienced a general process,which is after the first narrow and then expand to expand again.Its change trajectory is like letter"W".The third section based on the perspective of income structure analysis shows that the most obvious impact to the overall income gap is the gap between urban and rural residents in the wage income,followed by urban and rural residents in the gap on the transfer net income and operating net income,not obvious effect to the overall income gap is the gap on the property net income.Chapter 4 is the qualitative analysis of influencing factors about the income gap between urban and rural residents in Jiangxi Province which doesn't involve a lot of statistical data.According to the analysis of the previous chapters,I summarized five major categories of factors including economic development,policy bias,financial development,economic intervention and other influencing.And I analysed the influence mechanism of them one by one.Chapter 5 is the quantitative analysis of influencing factors about the income gap between urban and rural residents in Jiangxi Province which is based on the qualitative analysis of chapter 4.I collected all kinds of macro statistics from the statistical yearbooks of eleven prefecture-level city in Jiangxi Province from 2004 to 2013,and built the whole factors of income gap measurement model to empirical analysis.The model's explanatory variables are in accordance with the Theil index of the urban-rural income gap.According to the influencing factors of the five categories,the thirteen indexes are selected as the explanatory variables.Economic development factor is measured by three indicators of GDP per capita,urbanization level and the degree of economic openness.Policy bias factor is measured by four indicators of fixed asset investment policy bias,science and education accounts for financial expenditure,public services accounting for financial expenditure and agricultural affairs accounting for financial expenditure.Financial development factor is measured by two indicators of the scale of financial development and the efficiency of financial development.Economic intervention factor is measured by one indicator of expenditure share of GDP.Other influencing factor is measured by three indicators of proportion of tertiary industry in GDP,primary industry share of GDP and the total number of employees were owned share of all total number of workers.Then I used Eviews and Stata to carry out correlation test of the model's stability,cross section correlation,sequence correlation,variance between groups and regression analysis on the model.Chapter 6 is the conclusions and recommendations which is divided into 2 sections,the first section summarizes some conclusions of this paper based on the analysis of the previous chapters.The second section put forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions.Such as strengthening the research on the problem of invisible income,speeding up the reform of urban-rural dual system,reversing the city-biased fiscal expenditure policy,accelerating the process of urbanization,establishing and improving the rural social security system in the old-age and medical care,driving the urban and rural financial system from the unequal development to balanced development.
