In recent years, emerging industries represented by the internet and information technology industry is gradually replacing traditional industries as the new pillar of economic development, at the same time, internet companies are facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges. As an innovation driven industry, the competition of talent is the essential competition of industry, company must attache more importance to the management of talent, establish effective performance management, and select, train and retain high performance teams and individuals, which can keep advantages in the increasingly intense competitions.In this paper, we chose an internet R&D company IMG Company as the research object, combined with IMG Company's current situation of performance management, analyzed the performance evaluation program of the company's R&D teams, used questionnaire to investigate the satisfaction of performance management among three positions including R&D managers, R&D engineers and QA engineers, analyzed the existed problems of current performance evaluation program, then respectively proposed optimization plans for each parts of performance management system, and brought forward corresponding safeguarding measures, hope to effectively solve the existing problems of IMG Company's R&D team's performance management, further enhance the company's R&D level's, and motivate R&D people's enthusiasm.
