Research On The Development Strategy Of Domestic Photovoltaic Enterprises Based On Global Value Chain Perspective

Countries around the world are working hard to find clean energy to replace non-renewable fossil fuels with the aim of achieving energy security and improving the environment.Photovoltaics(PV),a much-preferred choice among all,is supported by most countries and has become the core force in the global new energy industry.The scale of PV industry in China has become the biggest in the world,but the whole industry is experiencing several problems,including weak competition,low added-value and a huge waste of resources.Thus,understanding the status quo,strengths and weaknesses of this industry and exploring suitable development strategies are the most concerned issues while China is promoting a sustainable development of PV industry.Based on the global value chain theory,this paper applies theories of industrial economics,development economics and business management.The writer has finished an extensive literature review,combined study results of scholars at home and abroad with his work and adopted both qualitative and quantitative methods.By analyzing technology characteristics and development situation of all links in the PV value chain,this paper clearly demonstrates its position in the global value chain.This paper also studies development situation,existing problems and future development strategies under the broad context of global value chain.It empirically analyses JinkoSolar Holding Co.,Ltd to elaborate the status quo and existing issues of the industry in a more comprehensive and effective way.This paper proposes to conduct corporation acquisitions through the strategy of horizontal integration to increase industry concentration and utilize economies of scale;to build leading enterprises of the integrated industry chain through vertical integration to lead technological breakthroughs and point the direction of industrial development;to exert concentration effects of the industry and further segment the market through a centralized strategy to create brand advantages and raise enterprise competitiveness;to share resources and realize complementary advantages through the strategic alliance to jointly cope with risks and challenges of international markets;to further optimize efficiency of resource allocation through cost leadership strategy to get a more favorable competitive stance in the market.The conclusion of this paper,which can serve as a reference for the benign development of the industry,is that China's PV industry has the opportunity to dominate the global value chain and become a new economic growth pole.
