County economy is the most basic part of our national economy, as well as the essential part of district economy in our country, which plays a role of connecting in the socialist market-oriented economic development and social stability. Consequently, the county economy was described as the cradle of urban economy, the hotbed of market-oriented economy, and the backbone of the county society, which become core of the state governance.As a crucial part of coastal economic region, Fujian province occupies an important position, especially when both Western Taiwan Straits Economic Zone and Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Area begin to construct and run in recent years, the county economy in Fujian is developing so fast as it has became the main support of Fujian economy. Under the background of urban and rural Areas Integration, the study on Fujian county economic competitiveness under the perspective of urban and rural areas integration have a very positive and practical significance.Although the academic field have carried out quite many study and research in county economy issues, rarely of them take the subject of how to enhance the competitiveness of Fujian county economy under the background of urban and rural areas. Therefore, this paper will try to form a set of scientific and reasonable index evaluation system and comprehensive evaluation method by using theories about competitiveness of county economy both home and abroad as the foundation, plus the combination of theoretical discourse and empirical analysis. With the help of case study on Xianyou Putian, the paper will fully and systematically research the overall situation of the Fujian county economy and its competitiveness, analyze the existing problems and weakness, then finally make suggestions for the improvement of Fujian county economy competitiveness, so as to facilitate the healthy and steady development of Fujian county economy in the coming future.
